ABILENE, Texas -- Crews have located a small plane that went missing shortly after takeoff en route to Norman Monday night. Authorities say two people died in the crash six miles northwest of Albany, Texas.
Unconfirmed sources say Dale Leighroy Phillips was the pilot of the single-engine Piper Comanche and Amy Wilson Clay could have been on the aircraft as well.
Lynn Lunsford, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration, said officials are still trying to determine who was on the airplane.
He said the FAA was working with local authorities to determine what happened to the craft.
