Monsters dash during weekend fun run | Community Spirit

A group in Norman will be putting on their running shoes and their costumes this weekend for a good cause.

The Junior League of Norman will be hosting its 6th annual Monster Dash 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012.

Beginning at 8 a.m., participants are off to the races as they compete in the 5K run.

At 9 a.m., children and those who like a slower pace will be taking to the track for the 1 Mile fun run.

Those participating in the fun run are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for the event.

In addition to running, visitors can enter a costume contest, shop at vendor booths and enjoy live music.

All proceeds benefit the Junior League of Norman.

The race will take place at Journey Church, located at 3801 Journey Pkwy in Norman.
